Support Maurii's LAMDA Journey

To my friends, my family.. to those of you that have been with me on this journey:

First off, I thank you. I know I would not be in this position without the support and prayers you have given me over the years. To those of you that may be reading this, but do not know me:

Hi, I’m Maurii Janea Davenport and I am THRILLED to share with you that I have been accepted into the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA).

I am set to begin working towards my MFA in Classical Acting starting in September. This opportunity represents a significant milestone in my artistic journey and a chance to refine my skills at a world-renown institution.

10 years into this, and I have often wondered what is next. You all have seen my moments of success, my failures, my tears of joy and sadness. Atlanta has given me commercials, movie roles, recurring guest stars. I’m SO thankful for the growth I’ve experienced on those sets, the relationships I’ve nurtured, and every single recap I receive from my grandmother on what happened on last week’s episode of The Oval. My heart is full as I prepare to head out of here.

I am set to fly to London on August 19th. Living costs in London rival with NYC, and LAMDA does not have accommodations for post graduate students.

I am funding this on my own, fronting all of my expenses to get there and settled while taking out the maximum loan available to cover my tuition. I will also be working a tech job part time, and managing the schedule of 9am-6:30pm classes, M-F. I’m ready for that. I know it will be a challenge, but the biggest one I face currently is housing. Your assistance with housing expenses would alleviate a significant burden, allowing me to fully focus on my studies, and artistic growth.

There is no avenue I am not exploring to gather the funds to complete this course on my own. Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a tangible difference in my journey. It will not only support my immediate need for housing but also signify your belief in my potential as an artist. Your investment in my education will have a lasting impact, enabling me to immerse myself fully in this program and emerge as a stronger, more skilled performer.
