Support Max G Blaise Jr: Heart Transplant

​The holidays can be a time of year both challenging and filled with love. For our family, these qualities of life took on new meaning. On the day after Christmas, Max G. Blaise Jr., father, brother, son, and friend, experienced a sudden cardiac arrest, which leaves him in need of a heart transplant. Although these events have certainly touched nerves of fear and anxiety, we have undoubtedly been granted fresh perspective regarding gratitude, generosity, and hope.​

Already there have been numerous hurdles, making the need for community increasingly clear. Without the support of his mother, sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews, daughters and son, friends and neighbors, physicians and specialists, he would not have survived, and we would not have this invaluable person in our lives; it is possible he has touched your life as well. Max G. Blaise Jr. is currently an engineer at Howmet Aerospace after a long career as a mechanical engineer at Eastman Kodak. Originally from Spencerport, NY, Max now resides in Irondequoit, NY where he raised his two children April Blaise and Max G. Blaise III. During summer Max can be found kayaking and waterskiing and in winter you may know him as the man who builds the giant snowmen.

It can only be described as a miracle that we have made it this far, yet we continue to face a lengthy and difficult road to recovery. One aspect of this challenge is the substantial cost of care. Max remains hospitalized since 12/26/23, has undergone numerous procedures, awaits heart transplant surgery while he remains on a donor list, and will require post-operative care for an extended period of time. While our entire family has come together in support of Max, any additional contribution is a blessing.
