Please Support Max's Battle with Rare Cancer
Donation protected
As some of you may know, my brother from another, Mr. Maximillian Leighton, got diagnosed with cancer of the tear duct (go figure) back in 2019.
He went through an operation to remove the tumour and radiotherapy to ensure it didn't come back. Max was given the all-clear in 2020 and has since become the father of a beautiful little girl, Helena.
Max could not continue his research in South Africa so he teamed up with filmmakers to form an environmental production company.
Then recently he started to get headaches again that became severe enough to go to the doctor.
Max was told a few weeks before Christmas that the adenoid cystic carcinoma has returned and he now not only has a tumour on his eye, but on his brain, in his skull and it has also moved to his lungs.
As you can imagine, this has come as a devastating shock to Max and everyone close to him. This being said, our boy is being strong as ever and keeping that positive mentality that everyone knows and loves him for.
Unfortunately, the traditional methods of removing the tumours and radiotherapy have not worked in Max's case, so he will need to look into other alternative treatments to ensure the rare cancer - Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma - doesn't come back again and also attempt to restore the sight in his eye.
There are many cancer treatments that are not accessible through traditional avenues, and so I have created this GoFundMe page for people to help support Max in his treatments, whatever they may need to be in the coming months and years.
I will update here in due course as to what treatments will be taken once Max has had time to consult with the experts on what the best course of action is. I thought it best to get the ball rolling on this so we can act as quickly as possible once anything is decided.
For anyone showing love and support - thank you.
xx
