Donation protected
Hi. This is Maxxie; she lives at Willy's Wings Rescue to Rehome. We are a parrot rescue for people who, for whatever reason, find themselves unable to continue caring for these beautiful souls. There is no judgment as to the reasoning. We are all about the bird/s.
As you are all aware, I do not pay for birds nor do I charge for them.
I am finding it more difficult to bear the entire costs of cages, food, toys, and emergency vet visits. I am not a 501c as of yet, so donations are not tax-deductible.
The latest emergency cost $1075.00, and with another one sick, it's looking like I will have to pay this again, but hopefully not the necropsy and cremation.
Currently, with all the birds here, I spend over $1500.00 in food and supplies. My income is fixed, so it's difficult to even save for an emergency.
If you could afford even just $5.00, this will help keep us going and the birds vetted when they show symptoms of anything abnormal.
2 days ago, I lost Harvard to pneumonia. I knew he wasn't feeling well but could not afford to bring him to the vet until we dipped into the 401k, and he had already passed. I do not want this to happen to another bird in my care.
Please find it in your heart to donate.
Any and every bit will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
Laurie
Update.
I have paid out 1725.00 this month. Please even 1.00 will help.
Both birds passed due to Bornavirus or PDD. No signs and symptoms prior to their condition crashing. Both presented with being withdrawn, lethargy, decreased appetite and weakness, within days they were not eating anything, but maybe a pistachio here and there, tiny bits of water. After Harvard passed, Buddy presented with the same symptoms. It took 2 weeks and they were gone.
Unable to adopt out or have surrenders join this rescue am trying direct placement of birds.
So far 4 birds have found their forever homes.
It takes some time, but I will get it done. I would rather these birds go directly to their adopters than to shelters.
