Support Maya Jean and the Gavin Glynn Foundation
David and Lorraine Gormalley's children attended Achonry National School Co Sligo for a number of years and formed deep bonds with our families before they moved back to Lorraine's hometown of Kingscourt Co Cavan over 2 years ago.
In recent weeks David and Lorraine have experienced any parent’s worst nightmare with the confirmation of a brain tumor diagnosis for their beautiful eight year old daughter Maya Jean. Maya Jean is currently undergoing treatment in Germany with support from the Gavin Glynn foundation.
The Gavin Glynn foundation, support families, like the Gormalley's, affected by childhood cancer and whose lives have been turned upside down.
We can't imagine what Maya Jean and her family are going through at the moment. We want to play our part and help, in a small way, to support them in the weeks and months ahead. We are planning a number of initiatives…
• Former classmates of Maya Jean, from Achonry NS, will complete pebble art to provide emotional/healing support for Maya Jeans family.
• We invite friends and family of Maya Jean to join us for a short virtual walk in solidarity with the Gormalley family. Sligo based friends and family will climb Knocknashee on the afternoon of Monday the 2nd of August (please note change of date).
• In addition, we are setting up a gofundme page to raise funds for the Gavin Glynn foundation which is supporting the Gormalley family with relocation to Essen Germany for Maya Jeans cancer treatment.
We appeal to you to give what you can and to show your support for Maya Jean and family at this difficult time. All funds raised will go directly to the Gavin Glynn Foundation. Thank you for your support.
