Hello, everyone! My name is Maya Keys and I am fundraising for my participation in the Flauti al Castello flute masterclass in Perugia, Italy this August with Sergio Pallotelli and Paul Edmund-Davies!

I am currently studying Musicology at Sorbonne University and flute at the Conservatoire Issy-les-Moulineaux with Mihi Kim!

I will make my professional debut this Friday, May 10th at Morley College in London in the Morley College Jazz Series. Last week, I won a 2nd prize in the Perfectionnement division in the Vanves International Flute Competition where I had previously won a 3rd prize. I have also toured with the Chineke! Junior Orchestra during their European Tour in 2022. I am willing to send my CV to potential donors who want to see all of my experiences by email.

I have also participated in a private lesson with Sir James Galway, a world renowned flutist and someone whom I have looked up to since I was young. I have previously participated in masterclasses with Paul Edmund-Davies in the Toscana Internationale Musicale Festivale and Gareth McLearnon.

This masterclass would be an incredible experience for me as I will be preparing for graduate music school auditions and I really enjoyed studying with Mr. Edmund-Davies last year and I very much look forward to studying with Mr. Pallotelli this August. Participating in this masterclass will not only help me prepare for my auditions but also see more of the culture of Italy!

I do have a part-time job but with my upcoming administrative procedures that I have to do such as renewing my French student resident card and getting a new passport, it would be more difficult to gather the funds needed to pay for the masterclass especially with the rising costs of living expenses. I have also applied for some scholarships, one of which I was denied, and some, if I receive them, won't be available to me until this Fall, therefore after the masterclass takes place.

I would really appreciate your support in my music education and career as I am starting to have some real success due to the people around me who have invested in me notably Ms. Kim, my current flute professor, and the work I have put in this past school year!
