Hello our dear friends am Wakoko Ivan, CEO/founder of Mbale Hills Youth Brass Band. I am grateful that am sharing my knowledge of music with these vulnerable kids in my community. I really had a dream of helping out these kids because I believe music has changed many of people's life and that's why I made up my mind to give a hand of support and make a change in their lives through music.

I am grateful I shared with the few friends who liked what am doing on the ground and I am grateful we managed to receive few instruments and we have more coming in to support the kid's talent .

For last eight months, we have been struggling as one of our best friends Robert who financially supported the program has been dealing with health problems. The kids didn't always make it to school as we didn't have funds for transportation, school materials, and tuition. It has been a hard time too finding the way out to provide them with some food. This made me to focus much more. I am grateful that I started making art paintings so that I can sell and provide the food to the kids and for my self.

It's so touching that these kids go through a lot. I understand their pain because most of them are orphans staying on the streets and they find hard times in their lives that's why I try to give them a hand and show them the light to brighten their future through teaching them music.

We hope to have more kids coming to school to get them out of the streets and teach them music. We want to make them feel they are not forgotten, that they are loved and cared for.

We are kindly requesting for friends to help and give a hand of support to assist with buying food, school materials, sanitary pads for the girls, and school tuition.

Together we can make a change and let's push the big dreams of these kids through music ✨

Hello everyone,

Dublin Youth Brass Band is looking forward to collaborating and learning with the kids of Mbale Hills Youth Brass Band this season. We'll be having cultural exchanges and getting to know each other through our love of music! Sometimes, getting financial support to another country can be difficult. To facilitate the connection with this band, I'll be collecting funds on GoFundMe, a platform familiar to those in North America and Europe, and I'll be sending them to the program through Remitly, an app more commonly used in Africa. This way, we can collect funds and distribute them in a way that is useful and efficient to everyone involved.
