Support Mckenzie & Joshua's Recovery Journey

My name is Mckenzie Peay and on January 1st, my boyfriend Joshua and I became victims of gun violence and were subsequently given a 3 day notice to vacate our apartment the very next day. Due to the sudden and traumatic nature of events, we had no other choice but to leave Nashville and move back into my parents house in Floyd’s Knobs; Indiana. We had plans to leave Nashville and move back to Florida at the end of our lease in May, so we saw the silver lining of an opportunity to be able to be back in Florida sooner.

However, the day before Easter, Joshua suffered a seizure and ended up in the hospital, where we discovered that he needed surgery to repair his patellar tendon from a tear he sustained playing basketball with friends. What started out as an opportunity to rest and take a breather after a life altering beginning of the year turned into another huge scare for the both of us and now unexpected medical expenses.

We both do our best to keep each other uplifted and stay positive, and sometimes it just seems like we can’t catch a break. At the recommendation of people who care about us, I’ve started this GoFundMe and as opportunity for folks to be able to help us if they are able.
