Support Me in Continuing My Education

Hi, my name is Kimberly Gonzalez and I'm a Sophomore at Montclair State University, majoring in Hospitality, Sports, Events, and Tourism. I am hoping to raise funds to help pay off my balance for my Fall 2023 semester.

I came to this school under the impression that I would be fully covered and this was a blessing for me and my family considering that finances are a constant worry for us. This was the case for my first year. I worked hard in all my classes, maintaining a 4.0 GPA. I have come to really enjoy and love the school and there are so many opportunities for me here. I have friends that I can spend time with and I honestly believe that I belong here.

However, unexpectedly for my Fall 2023 semester, I have to pay a balance of almost $5,000. I have tried to fight the payment by proving that due to financial hardships, my household income is lower. In the end, it was acknowledged that my income decreased but that no further aid would be offered. I am now in a difficult situation where I only have 3 months to pay off the almost $5,000 balance and the first payment installment is due November 1st. I am able to take out a loan that would help mitigate the cost a bit but it would take time to process so I have to first pay the installment. I really need to collect the funds by November 1st to not only ensure that I am enrolled in the 3-month payment plan but that I can even register for the upcoming Spring semester.

I am an extremely hard-working student who also works on campus, who spreads unconditional kindness, and is always willing to offer a helping hand to anyone. I want to pay back my parents' relentless labor by graduating and pursuing a career like they always hoped for me to do. I will be forever and eternally grateful for any help given to me to overcome this first hurdle.

My immediate and urgent need is to pay off the almost $2,000 first payment. I would still need to pay the rest of the money so any extra help is more than welcome but not urgently necessary. Once again, I am thankful for any and all help!
