Support me in my activism and earth protection

Hi, my name is Michelle, I am 56 years old. A mother, a grandmother, a strong and determined woman who has become a climate activist and Earth Protector. Please consider supporting me.

My eyes were opened during what I would describe as a spiritual experience in 2019 when I understood that we are living in a climate and ecological emergency. I was devastated as I uncovered the awful truth that future generations are having their lives stolen from them, that the future we now all face will be one of unimaginable horrors.

These are unprecedented times and Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary General says the recent IPCC report shows that humanity is at Code Red...we must Act Now.

I had been oblivious to this awful truth, my mind full, saving lives in Domestic Abuse and Homeless support charities. My research informed me that civil disobedience works and so I followed Extinction Rebellion. As soon as I was able, I co-founded an XR group in my hometown of Abingdon and we marched, protested, fasted for the climate, leafletted, held silent protests and tried to hold the authorities to account. I was extensively involved coordinating activities, whilst working full time.

It became obvious to me that the governments of the world are not responding seriously, the fossil fuel industry has them all by the throat. COP26 came and went, pledges were made and none delivered, and the CO2 in our atmosphere keeps rising - 418 ppm as at 27 July 2022, higher than at any point in history. This has terrifying consequences and already scientists are alarmed at how quickly changes are taking place - what was predicted in 2050, is already happening today ..

Catastrophes are increasing worldwide, and this has compelled me to do more. I feel as though I have no choice. I will not be able to look my 3yr old grandson in the eye if I do not do all I can to demand that the Government puts in place measures that will reduce our carbon emissions and bring us back to safe levels. Insulating Britain ! No more new oil fields !

We have no more time!

And so I have resigned from my job to be a full time activist. When I am not out on a resistance campaign, I volunteer many hours in the One Planet Climate Emergency Centre which I am proud to have co-founded. This is a place for the people of Abingdon to come together to talk and learn about the crisis. It is about resilience and community building, knowing what challenges we will be facing in the future...

The activism has stepped up and I was arrested for the first time in September 2021 and since then have been arrested many more times. Most recently I was sentenced to 28 days in HMP Foston Hall for climate activism. I will not stop until the Government does what it should to keep us all safe. Not just for us, but for all humanity.

Nobody is safe until we are all safe. No justice, No peace. No more oil!
