My name is Cassie and I am a queer non-binary working-class person who is struggling to pay for my private student loans.

Between becoming recently disabled, struggling to find a stable job with my disability, and being in a working-class family, it’s really hard for me to find the money needed to pay off these loans! The more time that delays with paying, the more interest, and late fees accumulate, which is really stressful. Unlike the federal loans being granted extended grace periods, these private loans are not exempt! It makes me feel powerless to owe money each month without having any stable income.


Being apart of grassroots organizing spaces, I have learned the invaluable lesson of asking for help from my community! There is so much abundance and fruitfulness in showing up for each other and being vulnerable about our needs. That is why I am asking for support today!


Paying off some of these loans will truly make it easier for me to focus on recovering from a difficult few months in my life and becoming economically stable.
