From the age of three, Megan O’Donnell has been singing to her stuffed animals (see video), and her passion for music has only grown since then. A coloratura soprano and talented pianist, Megan has been performing locally and provincially in music festivals since she was four years old. Her dedication has earned her prestigious accolades, including the Senior Rose Bowl at Barrie’s Music Festival and Ontario Provincial First Place in Music Theatre. Youtube Channel
Now, as a student at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Music, Megan has achieved a remarkable milestone: she has been cast as Queen of the Night at the renowned International Lyric Academy in Vicenza, Italy this summer. This three-week opera scenes programme will provide her the opportunity to train with world-class professionals, refine her craft, and build essential connections that will propel her opera career forward.
Not only is this a life-changing opportunity for Megan, but it is also an incredible honour for her to represent Barrie, Ontario Canada at this prestigious academy.
As her mom, I am setting up this fundraiser to help cover the tuition and travel costs for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Megan has worked TIRELESSLY throughout her life, always focused on her dream of becoming a professional opera singer. This opportunity in Italy is the result of her hard work, talent, and dedication to her craft.
We would be deeply grateful for your support in helping Megan achieve her dreams. Every contribution—big or small—will bring her one step closer to this incredible opportunity. Thank you for helping Megan represent the University of Toronto and Classical Opera in Barrie, Ontario Canada and pursue her dream of an opera career!
