Melio was the king of reactions on his favorite Discord server. Every message, meme, or joke was met with his signature skull reaction—a little emoji that had become his trademark. If Melio thought something was funny or dark, you’d see that skull pop up instantly. It became such a big deal that people started saying, “If Melio doesn’t drop a skull, it’s not funny.”
One evening, while everyone was spamming memes, Melio noticed something weird. He tried to react with his skull emoji as usual, but it didn’t show up. Confused, he clicked again—nothing. He tried on different messages, even on ones that usually got him laughing out loud. Still, no skulls.
“Hey, did Discord break? My skull reactions are gone,” Melio typed into the chat. The server erupted in confusion.
“That’s impossible!”
“Melio without skulls? That’s like pizza without cheese!”
But sure enough, even when others sent screenshots, Melio’s skull reaction was nowhere to be found.
As panic set in, an ominous message appeared from an unknown user:
“You’ve relied on it too much. The skulls are no longer yours.”
Melio tried everything—reloading, rejoining the server, even creating new emojis—but the skull emoji never worked for him again. No matter how hilarious or edgy something was, he was locked out of his signature move.
From that day forward, Melio had to use plain old emojis like everyone else. But it wasn’t the same. Without his skull reactions, it felt like he’d lost a piece of himself in the server, forever.
