Support Melissa: A Single Mother Fighting Cancer

In July of 2024, my best friend Melissa was diagnosed with stage 3B Stomach Cancer and Lemierre’s Syndrome. For the past five months, she has been undergoing aggressive chemo, and treatment for life-threatening clots that became infected and moved from her neck into her brain.

Melissa is a single mother of two beautiful children, ages 5 and 16. Anyone who knows her knows she is incredibly hard-working, independent, and self-sufficient. Everything she does is for her kids; they are her whole life.

It was a difficult decision to share her personal business in a public forum and ask for help. The intense treatments she has received, as well as the ICU visits for her painful thrombosis, have prevented her from working and have created a massive financial burden. Anyone who has a loved one fighting cancer knows how the bills just keep stacking up.

We are reaching out to our community for support. Any amount of financial assistance would be greatly appreciated until she regains her strength and has clearance from her team of doctors to return to work full time.
