Support Melissa and Zach in Baby Dallas' Journey

My sweet friend Melissa, and her husband Zach, found out early in their third trimester that their precious baby boy would be born with a rare congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). Due to frequent doctor appointments, stress of the unknowns of what their son’s journey would be like, and also caring for their 18 month old, Melissa has not been able to work since June and Zach has had to use all of his PTO and multiple other days off of work.

Fast forward to now, baby Dallas is here; born mid July! On the day of his birth he was rushed immediately to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta where he still is currently. He had his first open heart surgery (The Norwood Procedure) a few days after he was born. This is the first of 3 open heart surgeries that he will have to have within the first 2 years of his life. His next surgery (The Glenn) will be between 4-6 months of age, and his 3rd (The Fontan) will be between age 2-3 years old. On top of surgery, he has and will continue to have multiple other procedures to help with recovery and growth and development for their sweet little warrior.

Melissa will be out of work for at least a year and they do not qualify for financial assistance programs. I wanted to start this donation page so that everyone I know and anyone who knows Melissa and Zach could give something to help them as they navigate through this medical roller coaster. I know it has to be putting a strain on them emotionally, physically and financially.
