With heavy hearts, we share the sudden and unimaginable loss of Melissa McLean — a beloved wife, mother, and passionate elementary school science teacher in Far Rockaway. Melissa's passing has left an enormous void in the lives of all who knew her. She was the heart and soul of her family and her community.

Melissa leaves behind her devoted husband, Lonzil, and their three wonderful children. As they face this devastating loss, they will need time, space, and support to begin the long journey of healing.

This fund has been created in loving memory of Melissa to help ease the financial burden on her family. Donations will go toward funeral and memorial costs, allow her husband to take time off work to grieve, and most importantly, help support the McLean children — including contributing to their future education, just like Melissa wanted them to.
