Donation protected
My name is Rebecca. I try to save dogs in South Florida and usually help a lot with huskies. I have a 501c3 named Rescue Dog Network, pending with the state.
At my vet clinic, a young man came in with a husky bleeding from multiple limbs and deep puncture wounds with exposed muscle. The dog was in bad shape. Reportedly, the young man had adopted another dog recently, and while he was at work, a family member says the two dogs disagreed over something and began fighting. The other dog is fine; this one is not. The young man did not have enough money to begin life-saving treatment for the husky, Mellow. He had no choice but to leave with the dog and let it die at home even though the wounds were 100% treatable. I couldn’t let this dog suffer just because of its circumstances, so I paid the bill for the dog to receive treatment.
I had a long discussion with the owner about next steps for the other dog, a pit bull. We are hoping to get the dog into a rescue that takes behaviorals and give full transparency of what happened. In the meantime, Mellow is still at the vet and is set to make a full recovery. Please consider donating towards Mellow’s vet bill as us dog lovers would pick up a dog on the street and help keep it alive; why should this dog be any different?
