Support Memory's Hill Family After Tragic Fire
Donation protected
Hello friends,
The Virginia horse community is one of the most cherished families. One of our own suffered a tragedy this week. The Memory’s Hill Family is in our thoughts and prayers as they try to survey the loss from this week’s fire.
Sadly the lower barn at Memory’s Hill burnt down in the early morning hours on Sunday. Tragically, 4 horses were lost. Tara and Eliseo are thankfully ok. Eliseo risked his life to save all of the animals he could with Tara right by his side. We are grateful for their lives and heroic efforts as we move forward.
This is an unfathomable event and we ask for your love and support in helping lift up our friends in their recovery effort.
Please consider donating to assist.
The most pressing need is funds to cremate the four horses that were tragically lost, so they can be returned to their beloved families. As of Monday afternoon, 2/17, Ashley has paid the full amount of $7,816.22 to cremate these horses for their families.
While insurance will be helpful in building back, it is impossible to know what it all is going to look like on the other side. The needs are hard to predict but unfathomably large.
Eliseo’s camper, behind the barn, was a total loss as well and was not insured. The hope is that funds can be used to build him a new home as well.
As the situation unfolds we will also get a list of needed supplies and drop off points in various areas of Virginia.
Thank you for all of the love and support.
Sincerely, the MHS barn family
