Support Mental Health Awareness Initiatives

Tax deductible
We are raising money for the Mental Health Collaborative, a nonprofit that teaches students, teachers, and communities about mental health. Your donations will help expand their programs, like Mental Health Essentials Student Curriculum and Mental Health First Aid Training, so more schools and communities can access these important resources. Every dollar will help provide crucial mental health education and support. They provide mental health support services and courses for schools, communities, and private organizations. Their mission is “to build informed, resilient communities through education and awareness. We hope to improve mental health literacy in as many communities as we can.” -Abbie Rosenberg, RN PMHNP

Mental health education is critical for overall well-being, but most people in the U.S. don’t receive it. According to the World Health Organization, health literacy is more important to health outcomes than income or education. Currently, 1 in 5 people in the U.S. will experience a mental illness in their lifetime, and 75% of these issues start between the ages of 12-25. Sadly, less than 50% of students can recognize signs of depression, and even fewer know about other mental illnesses. Mental health education can bridge this gap by teaching people how to recognize and respond to mental health issues.
Since 2019, Mental Health Collaborative has trained over 6,000 people, helping to reduce stigma and increase knowledge and help-seeking behavior. With your support, we can bring these life-saving programs to more communities.
An 8th-grade student shared their experience after taking a Mental Health Collaborative program; “I knew something wasn’t right, but I didn’t have the words for it. This was the best class–with really important information that we all need!” Before the program, they struggled to understand or explain what they were feeling. This program gave them the tools and language to make sense of their emotions, and taught them when to ask for help. This is just a reminder of how life-changing mental health education can be, especially for young people who might feel lost or confused.
