Support MFC's Effort to Tour Free Shakespeare in VA!

Mortal Fools Collective’s 90-minute production of The Taming of the Shrew is an experimental, three-actor tour of one of Shakespeare’s most complex comedies, opening June 27th in Staunton, Virginia, and then touring across the state in July and August. This is our first production as a company, one that aims to skewer our current perceptions of Shrew and meet our audiences in their own backyards with energetic, accessible, and exciting Shakespeare. If you're looking to learn more about our values and mission, check out our website here!

We’re serious when we say accessible, so this tour is being primarily offered as a free event open to the public. Most of our touring venues are in public parks and community green spaces, making it easy for anyone curious about Shakespeare to get a professional sampling of his work. This Shrew is for all audiences!

To accomplish that mission, we need your help. 

This fundraiser is meant to support the various production costs associated with rehearsing and touring Shrew, including gas as we drive back and forth across Virginia, venue expenses, online ticketing fees, props, costumes, and already-incurred production costs. At the end of our tour, any remaining money from this fundraiser will be divided equally among the cast and creative team, providing additional compensation for their artistic work on this project.
