Support Mia's medical school dream in honor of Lori Venice

Our dear, sweet friend, Lorianne Venice, has passed away after her long, brave battle with breast cancer. Anyone that has ever met Lori knows what a beautiful, strong, sweet and kind woman she is and we are heartbroken.

Lori is an amazing wife, sister, teacher and friend but her greatest role in life has been mother to her daughter Mia.

Lori and Mike adopted Mia from China in 2005 and we all know Lori was deeply in love with her long before she first held her in her arms. Lori poured her whole heart into motherhood and there is no doubt that Mia is the amazing young woman she is today because of Lori’s fierce love for her daughter. Lori recently shared with us how heartbroken she is to leave her daughter…to not see her grow up and we made a promise to her that we would all be there for Mia.

Mia is a freshman at the University of Illinois. She started school with the intention of becoming a veterinarian but has since changed her major to pre med after watching her mother battle this horrible disease. Mia wants to honor her mother’s legacy by helping others and we want to help support her on her journey.

As you know, medical school is a long and costly endeavor and much of Lori’s teaching salary went towards Mia’s education. While we can never make up for the heartbreaking loss of her mother we can certainly make her journey an easier one.

Please help us keep our promise to Lori and support Mia in achieving her dream of becoming a doctor by donating anything you can to this scholarship fund... No amount is too small.

There is no doubt that Mia will always have a very special angel looking over her but we can all help honor Lori by being bright lights along Mia’s path.
