Support Michael Robson's Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
Michael Robson is an amazing soul known to many, whether as a friend, beloved relative, or drummer extraordinaire for the band RivetSkull. He’s a kind-hearted, music-loving dude who adores his daughter, Lauren, dotes on his granddaughter, Liliana, loves spending time with Mikiko, his girlfriend, and spoils the heck out of two beautiful kitty girls on a regular basis. He is many things to many people. He is my brother, my Irish twin, and he needs our help.

After prolonged, severe gastrointestinal issues, Michael received a life-changing diagnosis. He underwent a brief hospitalization and two CT scans, then had a colonoscopy on July 1st, 2024. His doctor visited with him immediately after, sharing that he was 99% certain that he had cancer. A few days later, his doctor confirmed his diagnosis of colorectal cancer, and that surgery, at the very least, would be needed to address it.

A consult with a colorectal surgeon will be done on July 11th to discuss what comes next. We may not know until after the procedure whether he will need any type of radiation, chemotherapy, or a combination of both. Presently, how severe the cancer is remains unknown. More knowledge will come after the surgery consult, any additional imaging studies and the surgery itself are completed. We will provide updates here as more is known and his treatment begins.

This has been a very rough ride for Michael. He first started experiencing symptoms last October but did not have health insurance. His ability to work was affected immediately, and as his health deteriorated, he had to stop working completely and, much to his great disappointment, was even unable to continue touring with RivetSkull.

Thankfully, with assistance from Mikiko, he obtained health coverage but was not eligible for unemployment. Sadly, neither did he have any type of disability insurance available to help him cover his expenses.

The medical bills and ongoing cost of treatment and care for cancer can be staggering even when one has a good job and savings. In Michael’s case, after months of illness without paychecks, it’s overwhelming. We’re reaching out to his community and ours to ask for your support, however large or small. Donations will go directly to Michael to help him get caught up on his bills, pay for the medical services he’s already received, as well as those ahead of him, for any medications he may require, to cover travel costs incurred when he’s unable to drive and to help see him through the duration of his treatment by supporting his daily living expenses.

Thank you for taking the time to read Michael’s story. With your help, we can lessen the stress of his financial burdens, which will allow him to focus on his fight against cancer. If so inclined, we humbly request that you share this campaign with your own network to help us further Michael’s support.

With deepest gratitude,
