Support Michael Warner in His Time of Need

Donation protected
Our dear friend and yours is allowing us to move forward on a quest for help. Although it is uncomfortable for him and will most likely cost some personal humility, help is greatly needed and we know you will want to assist him too!

Most of whom will see this already know Michael’s story. For those who don’t, Michael Warner was in a terrible accident many years ago and suffered a spinal cord injury. He also has epilepsy and because of his seizures is unable to drive. You can read all about the accident and his life journey in a memoir that he co-authored with his wife Shelly, called Holy Cow. Unfortunately, the love of Michael's life, who was both his soulmate and caregiver, suddenly passed away a year and a half ago from pancreatic cancer. This has been an extremely challenging season for Michael to navigate. On top of it all, he has been turned down for both disability and death benefits from the state of SC. Not understanding how this could be possible, a close friend and neighbor has written to the office of Tim Scott and while the case files have been reopened, it could be months until he hears and still no guarantees.

After receiving the news about his benefits, Michael decided it was time to sell their home and was hopeful for a quick and swift transaction. That hasn’t happened. Michael has over 19 years' worth of equity built into their home. It’s truly all he has and it would be a shame to allow him to lose that equity without trying to help. This is where you could make a huge impact. Through this GoFundMe page, we are hopeful to raise enough money to help catch up those mortgage payments and allow him the ability to stay on top of it until it sells.

I am a firm believer that at some point in life we will all need help. I truly wish we could take the shame out of the asking part. We aren’t weak for needing help - we are human. I know so many people who have great compassion for Michael and all that he has been through. I’m asking you to turn your compassion into action and consider making a donation today.
