Support Michael Zakarneh's Recovery Journey

This is my dad, Michael Zakarneh. He was shot by a man in the parking lot of an Islamic school in SW Portland in the afternoon of October 17, 2024. This man has repeatedly threatened my dad in the past unprovoked. My dad needs two surgeries for his gunshot wound and broken ankle. He is currently in surgery as I type this.

My dad is a hardworking man who only wanted to build and maintain relationships within the community instead of tear them down. Anyone who knows him knows that he is a kind person who’s very social and loves making people laugh. He has five children ranging from 18 to 4 years old and he supports his family back home. I can’t imagine life without him.
