Support Michael's Journey: Recovering Brain Trauma

On Saturday March 30th, Michael Perez was involved in a softball accident that resulted in him needing to be air lifted to Harbor View Medical Center for immediate medical attention. His injuries include multiple skull fractures, fractured eye sockets, broken nose, concussion & two frontal lobe brain bleeds.

Upon arrival to Harbor View Medical Center Michael was admitted to neurology ICU with a team of doctors including neurosurgeons and plastic surgeons waiting for him to continue running tests and keep him under close observation. Due to the severity of the the two frontal lobe brain bleeds Michael is being monitored by neurology ICU on an hourly basis.

On Easter morning, Sunday March 31st, Michael has received positive updates on his status and beginning to start a plan for recovery.

Over the next few weeks Michael will receive multiple surgeries that will each require long recovery periods and high medical costs.

Michael is an outstanding father of two, a beautiful daughter Raven and his mini-me son, Maverick. His life has been filled with high level sports traveling around the world and on this beautiful Saturday afternoon a random accident put him and his family at a stand still. Many people describe Michael as….”the most thoughtful guy...”, “incredibly supportive father..”, “he is always so positive..”, “he is the kindest & most hardworking man..”, “he is selfless..”!

He is ready to start the next steps in his surgery and recovery process to restore his life filled with so much love and joy!

Our family is eternally grateful to the countless people that have offered prayers and well wishes on Michael’s behalf.
