Support for Michael Covington’s Recovery
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
On December 12, 2023, our lives took an unexpected turn when Michael, a beloved husband, father, professor and friend suffered a stroke - just 2 days after his 55th birthday. This has not only been a physical and emotional battle for him but has also placed a significant financial strain on the family. As Michael began the long road to recovery, his wife, Robyn, has been faced with mounting medical expenses, therapy costs, and the struggle to keep up with household bills. Robyn is a travel nurse (and the hardest worker you'll ever meet) and has been attempting to care for Michael and struggling to make ends meet financially by commuting back home from her full-time travel job as often as needed, while working overtime when possible. Michael's part time status as a professor unfortunately did not provide health insurance. While facing this difficult time, another unforeseen disaster has struck.
On January 9th, a tornado devastated parts of Panama City, including Michael and Robyn’s property, leaving destruction in its wake and adding to the financial strain on Robyn and their family. The property, which held not just financial investment but also emotional value, as Tommy, their son, called it home, now requires significant repairs. Rebuilding it is essential to their wellbeing.
The combined impact of Michael’s stroke and the tornado damage has placed an immense burden on their family. Despite these challenges, Michael and Robyn’s spirit and determination to recover and rebuild together is unwavering. But they cannot do this alone.
We are reaching out to ask for your support through this GoFundMe campaign to help Michael and Robyn cover:
- Ongoing medical expenses and therapy costs to support Michael’s recovery from the stroke; as well as help pay for a cardiac procedure Michael needs in the near future.
- Bills and living expenses to keep Michael and Robyn’s home afloat during this challenging time.
- Repairs and rebuilding costs for the property in Panama City that was destroyed by the tornado.
Your contribution, no matter the size, will directly support Michael’s journey to recovery and rebuilding. It will provide not just financial relief but also a profound sense of community and hope during this incredibly difficult time.
We understand that not everyone may be in a position to donate. If that's the case, you can still help immensely by sharing this campaign with others or sending words of encouragement and support. Every share, every word, every gesture of kindness is a huge blessing and a step towards healing and rebuilding.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any support you can offer. Together, we can help Michael and Robyn face this challenge with the strength of a community behind them.
With gratitude,
The Nunnery and Covington Family
