My Name is Michael Revell.
Im the owner and Operator at Michael's Sewing Machine Service at 635-8 Railroad Square. And Im asking you to help see this tiny shop through the current closures after the devastating May 10 tornados.
In September of 2022 I left my position as General Manager of a local Tallahassee hotel for medical reasons. After attending trade school in Texas and then in New Jersey at the Janome plant, I built the service shop for the local Janome Sewing Machine Retailer. In December of 2023, I moved my operation to Railroad Square and opened Michael's Sewing Machine Service at the Art Park. I have poured all my time and energy into making this shop work and providing excellent service for sewists in Tallahassee and the surrounding area. On May 10, as many of you know, Railroad Square was devastated by the tornados that hit downtown Tallahassee. Shops are closed for the immediate future while we attempt to rebuild. There is no power and access is closed to the public. I am trying to continue to serve the community with housecalls but the real financial impact to the business is about $100 every day that the shop is closed. Thankfully, none of the machines in my care were damaged nor did I lose real inventory. What I have lost is business. Your contribution, no matter how small can help ensure that I am able to continue through this temporary crisis and reopen the shop when the recovery efforts are complete at RRSQ. $5, $10 or $15 contributions from my current and future patrons will help keep my tiny shop alive.
When you contribute, keep the receipt and I will discount your next service or purchase by that amount. I'm not asking for handouts just help to keep my little shop in business.
Thank You!
