As the water came rushing in under the doors, I wanted three things in my home a guitar, mandolin, and my bible all that I have had since the early 90’s that I still use in church. As I tried to get to these, I couldn’t get the bedroom door open I tried and tried. Feeling the floating floor moving under my feet. I decided to get out of home with nothing saved. I watched my home be destroyed piece by piece. Saturday morning the water receded so I work my way into home full of mud and water, everything destroyed that I come in contact with. I work my way to the bedroom wondering why god why thinking to myself my instruments and bible are destroyed too.I get the bedroom door open enough to stick head through
. I see the mattress laying from top of window to the floor and laying on mattress is my guitar and mandolin , side by side perfect straight up and down just as someone would have laid it.
But I notice something else it’s not dirty and muddy as everything else in the home is. Excited I work my way over to them nervous to open the cases up. Then a miracle happens not one drop of water to be found or mud even on the cases. In time church reopens and a young girl comes up to me and lays her guitar in Front of me and says. I know you lost everything but I want you to play my guitar until you get you another one, I look up to her and say you haven’t heard , god saved my guitar but guess what you get to do,play beside me in the church choir. She has played ever since and I am very proud of her and her family. As for my bible it was never found,I hope Jesus has it in heaven with him and maybe he will give it to me when I get there.the moral of the story is god is in control and I’m glad he is, thank you lord for saving my instruments and giving me hope that you are in control.
