Support Michelle's Fight for Smokey

Hello,

My name is Nicole Ranallo. I am starting this gofundme for my sister Michelle. Michelle is a single mom of a 13 year old boy and fur mom to two foster fail cats. A mother and daughter combo. She has no additional financial support besides what she brings in.

Yesterday, she brought the younger cat Smokey to the vet because she noticed she was in pain. Long story short the outcome is worse than she thought, Smokey will be needing surgery or a leg amputation. We are waiting on the radiologist to go over the X-rays but the doctor said she was not expecting this. The three theories currently are she has lost her tendon/cartilage in that leg, something is calcifying and they don’t know why or the last theory she has bone fragments in the area.

Best outcome would be surgery, the worst outcome would be amputation… the option no one wants to acknowledge is euthanasia ( because of financial resources).

Michelle and her son took the mother cat in through rescue and helped her raise her kittens. At the end of that time Michelle kept the mother and a kitten (Smokey). She has been there from the start and these cats mean the world to her.

Michelle has a full time corporate job but with being the sole provider for her family, she does not have much money left over each week.

I know the power a gofundme can have and this choice to ask others for help was not taken lightly.

I have set the fund at $2000. Until I get updates from the vet. Just last night she spent $681 just on X-rays and the vet appointment.

I will continuously update and submit photos of the journey.

Smokey is currently on pain management now.
