Support Michelle's Journey to Mobility

My name is Michelle. I'm 40 years old and I have Cerebral Palsy. I have my Masters in Social Work, and I loved working in a mental health setting. I hope to work again within the next year.

As my disability fights me harder, I am currently housebound. We are looking to purchase a wheelchair accessible van, and this fundraiser is for the down payment.

I have a permanent catheter which caused infections and blood pressure spikes. These conditions led to seizures and a heart attack in August '22.

I fight a high level of muscle tone which makes it difficult to sit up for longer periods without added support. I am discussing a Baclofen pump with my doctors.

Recently, I started having pain in my left knee making it harder to stand. I also have shoulder pain which makes transfers and stability more challenging. I am currently in physical therapy twice per week.

As my parents get older, it is too hard on them to lift me into the vehicle anymore.

I haven't been getting out except by ambulance to go to the doctor. I miss church so much! I am in the process of being evaluated for a new power chair, and if I can raise the money for a down payment on a wheelchair accessible van, I can build my life back. Thank you!! Any amount helps!
