Support Mick's Journey: Help Make His Home Wheelchair Access

Donation protected
On a day that started like any other, Mick was on his way to a job interview in Warwick, QLD. While riding his motorbike, the unthinkable happened. In broad daylight, on a well-signposted road, a driver ran through an intersection and collided with Mick. The accident was devastating.

Mick was rushed to the hospital with multiple fractures including his spine, as well as kidney and spleen injuries. Too soon doctors delivered the heartbreaking news: Mick will never be able to walk again. He is now a paraplegic, facing a long and difficult journey ahead.

Mick and his wife, Kaz, are now navigating this new reality together. However, they don't have immediate family nearby to provide support. That's where we, the motorcycle community, can step in and offer a hand.

Mick and Kaz own their home, but it is not wheelchair accessible. The goal of this campaign is to help raise funds to make their home wheelchair-friendly before Mick returns from the hospital. This will be a huge step in making Mick’s transition back to home life a little easier and more manageable for both him and Kaz.

In addition to making the home wheelchair accessible, there are also general maintenance tasks that need attention: lawn mowing, gutter cleaning, and other basic upkeep. Any extra help we can provide would make a world of difference during this challenging time.

The funds raised will be used for:

Home upgrades to make the house wheelchair accessible (including ramps, widened doorways, bathroom adjustments, etc.)
General maintenance around the home
Transportation costs for Kaz to visit Mick at the hospital, as well as any other essential needs they require during this transition period.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 to cover the cost of materials, labor, and any associated expenses.

If you have time or skills to offer, we would also love to hear from you. Whether you’re able to donate your expertise, hands-on help, or other resources, it would make a huge difference to Mick and Kaz. Please reach out if you can help in any way – no gesture is too small!

Any donation, big or small, will be deeply appreciated. Your generosity will make a real and lasting difference in Mick and Kaz’s lives, helping Mick transition to a new chapter with a bit more ease and comfort. Let’s come together as a community and support one of our own.

Thank you for your kindness and support.
