Support Migrant Families at Floyd Bennett Field

Tax deductible
Update, January 25, 2024:
Thank you all for your generous support for this fundraiser. We have exceeded our goal in just three days, so will now be taking this link down. The money you’ve helped us raise will be immediately used by the BedStuy Activist Parents group in cooperation with medical professionals and the parents of sick children to quickly assemble medical kits for those currently suffering.

If you would like to keep supporting the people at Floyd Bennett Field, please visit our website at delcocrs.org to read about our continuing winter necessities collection drive. Please note that we are currently only accepting in-kind donations of suitcases, winter coats, gloves, and kids’ toys. You can also find out how to to work with us more broadly on efforts to support refugees and asylum seekers.
Support for Migrant Families at Floyd Bennett Field

Since October 2023, nearly 2,000 migrants–half of whom are children–have been housed in tents at Floyd Bennett Field in New York. This has been challenging for families, as they cope with difficult conditions, compounded by the cold weather and limited heating. Many of the children are falling sick.

The Delaware County Citizens for Refugee Support (DCCRS) is gathering funds to support the BedStuy Activist Parents group in assembling and distributing 100 care packages containing flu and cold medicines, supplies, and microwaveable soup. Any additional funds raised over our goal will be used to deliver more care packages.

DCCRS is a 501 c 3 non-profit organization based in Delaware County, New York, which supports refugees and asylum seekers and advocates for the human rights and freedoms of all displaced people. To receive an acknowledgement of your tax-deductible contribution and to stay involved, please check the box during checkout so gofundme shares your email address with DCCRS.

BedStuy Activist Parents is a committed group of neighborhood parents who have come together around a shared belief in collective humanity and action. Their work aims to uplift and empower our neighbors, new and old, near and far, to live safely, securely, and comfortably. A core member of the organizing team is a member of the Delaware County community.
