Support Mikayla's journey to a new heart

Donation protected
On March 23rd, Mikayla was diagnosed with a one-in-a-million heart condition called restrictive cardiomyopathy which causes her heart to stiffen and restricts blood flow to the rest of her body. Mikayla requires a heart transplant to survive because there is no cure or effective treatment.

She was immediately admitted into the ICU at Stanford Medicine Children's Hospital and has been there since. Over that last month, she has undergone several procedures and has experienced some complications that are stopping her from being added to the donor list. An external device has been helping her heart pump blood.

She has a long journey ahead of her and is still waiting to be stable enough to be added to the transplant list and will remain in hospital care until she receives her new heart.

Mikayla is being amazingly strong and just celebrated her 5th birthday in the hospital. She's adjusting the best she can to her hospital life (her favorite hospital treat is cherry popsicles!) and still her sassy self. The team at Stanford has been patient and amazing with her care.

All funds raised will be used to help with costs associated with Mikayla's medical care.

We will continue to provide updates on Mikayla's journey to a new heart!
