Help Mike Francisco Fight Cancer

Hi, my name is Zoey Harris, one of Mike’s (many) friends. I first met Mike a little over a year ago after starting my Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at Mayo AZ. We met on the inpatient Hematology Service where Mike frequently works and helps people with cancer on a daily basis. I knew right away what an amazing person he is - hard-working, intelligent and dedicated to his patients and his colleagues. Constantly going above and beyond for his patients and their families. For the last ten years he has helped cancer patients get through their illnesses in both Michigan and Arizona... We could never have expected that he would be one of these patients. It is with a heavy heart that we have learned that Mike, 35 years young, was diagnosed with colorectal cancer on Friday, October 6th. He has been feeling only vaguely fatigued over the preceding months and routine blood work revealed new iron deficiency anemia. He went in for scopes and was diagnosed shortly thereafter.

Currently, Mike is in the process of undergoing complete work up and seeing the Oncologists and Surgeons. As he starts on this journey, he has already wracked up significant bills which will unfortunately only worsen as we move towards surgery and chemotherapy. He would never ask himself so I have created this GoFundMe for him. If you feel so inclined, I know he would sincerely appreciate any donation on his behalf to help support his medical bills. Any amount, small or large, is immensely appreciated.

I know we have all been touched by Mike in some way and know that if the shoe were on the other foot, he would be there for us. My hope is that we can do the same for him through this. I know that Mike is a fighter (literally a champion) and he will fight this with everything he has. He knows he has such a large network of support that spans the country and I hope we can continue to be there for him in every way, through the highs and lows.

We never expect this type of news and we could never expect this would happen to Mike. But I know he will pull through. If there is anyone who can and will, it’s Mike. Thank you all for your time and consideration. Please continue to send positivity, prayers and thoughts his way.
