Support Mike's Journey to Become a Software Developer

Hi my name is Mike.

For the past 18 years I have put my family before myself. I stepped up when needed to help take care of my nephew because his father decided to leave when he was born. I was only 18 at the time. A lot of my life in the past 18 years has been all about my nephew and what is best for him and how to help my sister make sure she could create the best life for the both of them.

Roughly 7 years ago my mother also became very ill. In the past 7 years she has nearly died 3 times and became extremely frail/weak. So now on top of helping raise my nephew I was also caring for my mother, this all started before I even hit 30 years old. She became so weak that for several years she could hardly get herself out of bed let alone do any other kind of task. Taking on the task of being there 24/7 for my nephew and my mom both left me with no time for a job myself. I had to take my nephew to and from school every day from 1st grade until he was in high school. This included making sure he got his homework done, his dinner and shower and whatever else might of come up during his school year schedules. Between this and taking care of my mom it just made keeping my own job impossible.

My nephew is now 18 years old and is off learning to do what he loves and my mother is finally on right path to recovery. Unfortunately, I still don't have the available time to have my own job currently. I still have to help her with many things including taking her to and from work. She lost her license due to that fact that she was to weak to drive for years. With her being on the right path recovery wise, my ability to have a job once again should be coming and soon. I want to become a software/app developer. I am wanting to get myself ready for that task so when the time comes I can start applying for jobs right away. My current macbook that I got while in school years and years ago is to old to allow me to run the current software needed to learn what I wish to pursue.

I am wanting to learn to use Swift computer language and XCode so that I can get a job in software and app development. However, given the circumstances of the past 18 years of my life I am not able to afford to buy myself a new MacBook pro which I need to be able to use the latest version of XCode and swift language.

I am simply hoping that people out there will be willing to donate whatever amount they can to help me acquire a new MacBook pro so I can finally pursue my goal of becoming a software/app developer.

I do understand that I am asking a lot of people to help someone they don't even know. However, your help would truly change my life and the life of my family. I am truly grateful for anyone that is able to give any kind of support towards my goal. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.
