Support Mike's Journey to Pain Relief

My name is Michael Crowder. I go by Mike. For four years I have experienced increasingly severe chronic pain primarily below my waist. A half dozen opioids and two spinal cord stimulators didn’t provide me anything more than temporary relief. Next week I will begin ketamine infusion therapy at a clinic here in Middle Tennessee. 173 of 175 chronic pain patients who have received ketamine treatment at this clinic since October are still in the program. Pain patients experience an average of 56% pain relief in the first month. Unfortunately this treatment for chronic pain is still relatively new, so it’s not covered by my Medicare Advantage plan. Since I’m retired, disabled, and on a fixed income, I find myself in the extremely uncomfortable and reluctant position of raising money for my treatment. I live with my 87–year-old mother, who does virtually all the household chores because my pain and muscle weakness limit my mobility. I want to get better for her, family, friends, and people I won’t otherwise even meet if I don’t get significant, sustained pain relief. Don’t be intimidated by the fundraising goal.
