Support Miki’s Family After Her Life-Altering Brain Bleed

Dear Friends, Family, Co-workers, and Community Members:

We are reaching out with a heavy heart to share the news of an emergency medical situation facing Miki and Hemant. On April 7th, Miki, loving wife to Hemant, was rushed to the hospital with a severe debilitating migraine. It was determined that Miki had a brain bleed. It has been a very sudden and devastating situation for the family. Miki was in the neuro ICU for over six weeks and was monitored for her critical condition.

To make matters even more devastating and heartbreaking, several medical procedures were recently completed but there have been some major complications and Miki has endured a lot. The option for further invasive medical interventions would be too difficult for her to endure at this time.

On May 31st at 2:15pm, our beloved Miki Patel passed away peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones. She was in the ICU for 54 days, and despite fighting hard and having the best care and medical interventions, she could not survive the complications from her illness. We are very proud of her strength through this struggle. We invite you to remember her, to honour her life and legacy. Thank you for all your support, love, care and prayer ❤️ As siblings, we have organized efforts to support Hemant and their children, ages 4 and 8, as we know they will require support facing the turbulent road ahead.
