Hi. My name is Mistena. I have two kids and a husband. I am a stay at home momma…my mom and grandma are both addicts. I am trying hard to take care of them and keep them sober. I know it’s not my job to keep them sober however in the beginning stages I want to show them how much better life is when you get to experience it and are able to remember each day, and be with people who love them. My mom is 40 days sober today!!!! My grandma was 72 days sober and then had a very bad relapse that almost took her life. I’m now in the process of getting guardianship of her so that we can find a good safe place for her to live and have 24/7 care. My mom has lived with me for the last 37 days… I’ve taken care of her.. which I’m thankful for the opportunity, but it is not without difficulty and financial burden. We are going to be getting mom set up in the apartment. $60 a month in foodstamps doesn’t do anything. As SOON as she gets her license/ID she will be getting a job and taking care of her own things. She’s excited to do so. But right now we have to provide and we can’t keep up! Vapes, cigarettes, food, prescriptions (insurance doesn’t cover them all), food.. she eats soooo much!, her teeth were $1700 but we had to get her teeth!!, doing her hair and eyelashes cost me a lot of money but I do it to help her feel pretty and feel better about herself during this process cus she had pulled out all her eyelashes and shaved her head when using. It’s not something we will keep up with, she will have a job soon. ❤️ but temporarily I need HELP.

as soon as I become grandmas guardian (which also can cost more money!!!) grandma’s disability will be going to the nursing home/assisted living in which we choose for her. Therefor we will have no more help to take care of the apartment, so we will be screwed until mom starts making money. We can’t afford $700(rent), $120(electic), $50 (utilities) plus supporting mom till she is making money… I don’t wanna lose the apartment because it’s perfect for mom but without temporary help we will.
