Support Moby's Lifesaving Amputation

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kristin Finstad and I am the owner of Splash Canine Hydrotherapy and Recovery in Vancouver, Washington. I came to know Moby when his owner Jeanine (Jae) reached out to me for help after her dog had been hit by a car and suffered a major neurologic injury to his right front leg. He got out of his yard and was hit by not one, but two cars before being taken to an emergency clinic in Vancouver. I Paw'd it Forward paid for him to receive emergency care and x-rays which provided a diagnosis of a brachial plexus avulsion, along with bruised lungs. They recommended amputation or human euthanasia at that time.

Jeanine didn't have the money for the amputation surgery so she brought him home to recover. That's when she reached out to me to see if we could avoid amputating his leg by trying hydrotherapy and see if he would regain more use of his leg. Since then, he has been swimming regularly and had begun to swing his front leg rather than dragging the foot.

At that point we ordered a custom brace that we hoped would help with his mobility. Unfortunately, the brace created a wound on his foot that became infected and is not healing. We are in a race against time to amputate the limb before the infection causes sepsis.

I have created this fundraiser to pay for this lifesaving surgery. We need to pay half of the estimate ($3523.05) in order to schedule him for surgery.

About Moby:
This boy was born and raised in a homeless camp in Vancouver, and he has had a rough puppyhood. He has learned to be wary and afraid of people and situations, and the trauma of being hit by a car didn't help. Although he was reactive when I first met him, he now knows that I am only trying to help him and has warmed up to me. I feel for this little guy and am determined to help him in every way I can.

About Jae:
Jeanine has also had a rough life, and wouldn't hesitate to spend every dime she has to pay for his surgery, but she doesn't have the resources. She has overcome many obstacles in her life and I have great respect for her.

About me:
I happen to be in a position to help Moby with hydrotherapy and any connections that I have. He's a good boy and deserves a good life.

Thank you all in advance for any and all help!
