Support Mohamed Kamara's Family

Mohamed Kamara, a deeply respected and beloved figure who hailed from Sierra Leone, had the fortune to immigrate to the United States in 2017, having won the DV lottery.
Before embarking on this transformative journey, Mohamed served his community as a primary school teacher. The joy and light of his three-month-old daughter's life was just beginning to discover the world when he bid farewell to his homeland. For the past several years, Mohamed embraced his new life with vigor and resilience, working diligently as a Lyft driver to provide for his family.
His unwavering commitment and ceaseless dedication made him the sole provider for his wife and daughter, who remained in Sierra Leone. Mohamed's heart, while firmly rooted in his new home, never forgot where it first beat. This past April, he was looking forward to returning to Sierra Leone, the first time since his departure. His plans were filled with joy and longing, not only for his homeland but also for his family. He intended to file for his wife and daughter to join him in the United States, hoping to unify his family in their new home after his return.
Tragically, life had other plans. While on duty with Lyft, carrying his passengers, Mohamed was fatally struck by a reckless driver fleeing the police. This devastating event abruptly ended the life of a man who was a pillar for his family, a friend to his passengers, and a dreamer of a brighter future.
Lyft unfortunately did not step up to support Mohamed's family, so we are putting together this page to do just that through this tragic time and we hope you'll donate what you can.
