Support Mohammed's Family's Safe Exit from Gaza

In the heart of Gaza, amidst the relentless conflict that has torn through the region for the last five months, Mohammed Abusharekh and his family face unimaginable hardships. Born and raised in Gaza, Mohammed, a dedicated accountant and once a top-rated freelancer on Upwork, now finds his world and professional life crumbling around him.

The recent bombings have left their home in ruins—walls demolished, the once-thriving garden uprooted, and their sense of security shattered. Mohammed and his family have endured displacement numerous times, seeking refuge within the very borders of their homeland, only to find each relocation brings them closer to peril.

Amidst this chaos, Mohammed has exhausted his savings on essential supplies. Yet, the destruction of their home means they've lost everything. The siege and constant conflict have forced them to leave their home, wandering in search of safety while grappling with the fear of what the next moment might hold.

Particularly distressing is the health of Mohammed's father, a diabetic struggling to find care in a medical system that has all but collapsed.

The challenges of maintaining a connection to the outside world are immense, with ongoing blackouts and disrupted communication lines. Mohammed's determination to stay connected, risking his life to find signal on rooftops under the threat of aerial bombardment, speaks volumes of his resilience.

Our Goal

We are launching this GoFundMe campaign to raise $42,500 to support Mohammed's family in their urgent need to evacuate to safety. Here's how the funds will be utilized:

$42,500 for Permits and Crossing Fees: To cover the costs of obtaining necessary permits and the fees for crossing at the Egypt-Gaza border in Rafah. This includes:

$5,000 per adult (Mohammed, his four brothers, both parents, and his wife).

$2,500 for Mohammed's eight-month-old daughter.
