Support Molly to Play for Team Canada

Donation protected
Hey everyone!

My name is Molly Pelletier, and my passion for dodgeball has given me the opportunity to represent Canada at the World Championships in Graz, Austria.

The World Championships will be held in August 2024. This unfortunately means 10 months of expenses. Traveling for training camps and tournaments means airfare, transportation and accommodations, as well as player fees and uniform expenses on top of that.

What This Dream Means:

This is an opportunity to pursue my passion at the highest level of the sport. Having the opportunity to represent Canada on the World stage would be the experience of a lifetime. It is a constantly evolving sport, and I am honoured to play at such a high level!

Although in the past I have never considered myself an athletic person, I now have the opportunity to push myself, see my potential and join a family of extremely talented athletes across Canada! I am constantly increasing my understanding of the sport’s complexities, strategies, mental, and physical demands. This is only a fraction of what supporting the sport’s growth and development can be.

The Goal:

Raising funds to represent Canada at the World Dodgeball Championships in Graz, Austria, in 2024! However, unlike more established sports, Dodgeball Canada is an emerging organization and lacks the funding and corporate sponsorship. (It's coming...but it doesn't exist quite yet)

Athletes are responsible for covering our own expenses such as airfare, accommodations, transportation and registration fees for tournaments and training camps, as well as player fees and uniform costs

Progress So Far:

In the summer of 2023, I participated in Dodgeball Canada's national tryouts that were held in PEI, Winnipeg and Vancouver. Following the tryout at the Vancouver combine, I received the incredible news that I was selected by the coaching staff to represent Team Canada's Mixed squad!

The Positive Impact:

Beyond myself, this journey is about our vibrant dodgeball community and our country. With over 100 teams from 30 countries expected to participate in Graz, Austria, in 2024, this is a historic moment for the sport. Canada, despite its smaller dodgeball community, has always been a strong contender on the international stage.

Personal Experiences:

I have been playing dodgeball for almost 8 years, and 7 years competitively. I have participated in multiple Provincials, Nationals and many other tournaments over the years.

Expenses and Funding Allocation:

The primary expenses I’m looking to cover are airfare, hotels, and other travel expenses. Until now, we've shouldered these costs ourselves, often needing to take time off work to compete and train across Canada.

Challenges and Commitment:

My commitment to being among the world's top players involves time and travel expenses. In order to overcome these challenges, fundraising, seeking corporate sponsorships, and hosting various events, will support this journey and allow me to pursue the sport I love.

Timeline and Milestones:

Our training for the World Championship runs from now until August 2024, with the championship taking place in Graz, Austria, from August 11-17, 2024. We've already commenced training camps and invested in professional development.

Why Support:

This is a journey for our entire community. We aim to show the world that talent, passion, and dedication can emerge from even the most unexpected places. By supporting, you're not just funding my dream, but also helping to put Victoria and Vancouver Island on the global map as we represent our amazing community!

Join us in making history by supporting my Team Canada dodgeball dream! Your contribution will make a world of difference, and together, we can achieve greatness on the world stage! Let's inspire others to "Discover the Sport" of dodgeball with me!!❤️
