Support Mona's Fight for Recovery

Mona was spayed in January and went back into heat this past week. Confused, we took her back to the vet. They did blood work and said her estrogen levels were too high and immediate surgery needed to be performed to assess why. The vet told us she found a cyst and removed it. Simple, right? When we picked Mona up from surgery, the incision area was bloodied but we were told it was normal and to keep Mona from jumping and being too active. That same night, we checked on her and found her in a pool of blood. Her tongue was out, and she was unresponsive.

We immediately took her to an emergency clinic where they performed another surgery and determined that Mona was bleeding out from an internal incision that had likely been made on accident. That doctor was able to stop the bleeding but Mona has been struggling to recover.

She has been treated over the past few days and currently needs a blood transfusion. If you have any pets of your own, you know how they are your family and Mona is no different. She has her entire life ahead of her and has been the feisty little puzzle piece our family didn’t know we needed.

We have exhausted all of our financial resources and are kindly asking for donations to get Mona on the mend. We just want her to come home.
