Support Morgan Watson's Family:In Memory of Morgan

On the evening of March 12th, Morgan Watson, my beloved sister in law, lost her 18 month battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was an amazing fighter, doing all she could to live life with her husband, Michael, and her 3 young children, Marlee (9), Max (7) and Maisy (4). Morgan had just celebrated her 39th birthday.

I am setting up this GoFundMe page to help my brother, Michael, and their three children, with funeral expenses, daycare expenses, remaining medical bills, and help with basic necessities.

Below is an outline of their current expenses. Others have reached out to me to see if there are other ways they can help; I put some ideas below.

Current Expenses:

Funeral and Burial Site: $16,000 (Please note - Morgan requested to be buried in a way where her children could visit her. We have found a beautiful shaded plot in a cemetery near their home where they can sit on a blanket and be with her.)

Childcare Expenses (at the kids’ elementary school): $9,543 total for summer and next school year - the breakdown is below.

• Summer Program ($430 a week for 3 children) = $4,558

• School Year Before and After School Program ($110 per week for 3 children) = $4,125

• Spring break and Winter break programs ($430 a week for 3 children) = $860

Outstanding Medical Bills (this is an estimate- more bills are coming from recent care as Morgan was hospitalized several times in the last few months): $10,000

Help with Basic Necessities: $5,000

This will go towards food, gas, etc. This will also go towards increased health care insurance costs as this switches from Morgan’s job to Michael’s job (with higher premiums). There is no life insurance, and the family will be down to one income.

Other Ways to Help:

In lieu of sending flowers to Michael, we thought of different ways that others could help.

• Safeway gift cards (Michael practically lives at Safeway)

• Target gift cards (The kids love Target - it’s where they get their clothes and Michael enjoys occasionally taking them to pick out a small toy/craft for special nights)

• Maisy is turning 5 on 3/22/2024. She likes Blues Clues and said she wants a Hello Kitty birthday.

• Offering to take the kids out for one day to the park or the museum (to give Michael a few hours off).

• Any fun ideas you may have for activities for Michael to do with the kids (like crafts…Max loves clay and has a wonderful imagination).

Morgan expressed her love and appreciation for all the support and prayers you provided her throughout her journey. Michael, Marlee, Max and Maisy send everyone their love and thanks for your prayers during this time.
