Support Morrigan's Last Surgery on her 12 year Journey

Morrigan has 10 adult teeth she was born without many adult tooth buds. Due to a short jaw which I truly believe was from her sitting so low in utero. Her jaws couldn't grow forward to develop the chin and enough room for buds to develop, her menu is soft foods mainly. Anything too chewy or potential to hurt the gum area she just can't withstand the irritation that forms after a meal of anything that with scrape her gums.

Hello! I am updating her story. Braces will need to be on next week. We're supposed to be on a month ago. I also, added her Cranial Facial Team The cost for Dr Olivier to place the gadding her team of Dr.s Kimsey H. Rodriguez, ENT, Meredith W. Allain, MD Gabriella M. Bluett-Mills, MD Claudia A. Cavallino, DDS Olivier Orthodontics will do her braces. They also assist with evaluations. and add that she was the smallest baby to ever have a Mandibular Distraction in 2011 when she was 3 weeks old. I will try to add those pictures and add pictures of her cleft palate surgery at 2 yrs. I am a mother of 5 beautiful daughters, and my last one was born when I was 43. My uterus wasn't strong enough to hold her weight as she developed in utero. Her head was so low that her jaws were cramped, and they didn't fully develop. Through no fault of her own, and I can't legally say the doctor, but he didn't hear me because I am in recovery and was treated like I was paranoid when I kept telling him she was in my pelvic bone. I felt as though she was coming out the bigger she got. She only grew to 5 lbs, basically the size of a bag of sugar. She is such a humble and beautiful soul. She has powered through not having a full set of molars to chew with and the comments from other kids about scars on her jaws. She proudly says, 'I love my scars, and it just means I am a warrior. Just like the name my mom and dad gave me... Morrigan... Warrior Princess '

She has a hard time making friends, and then after being in school for 6 years, they closed her only comfort zone where children cared. St. Mary Magdalen was closed permanently, and our small family of 200-400 kids was broken up, and all the kids are all over. Morrigan is so trusting, and she doesn't have the options so many have. There is a name for her condition, Pierre Robin. There is no real cause for the syndrome that they know of, but she had to have a cleft palate correction at 3 years old. They literally stitched through her tongue and taped it to her chin for the surgery. She wore braces on both arms, as you see in the picture, and could not touch anything. She has always risen above the stuff she endures. We cannot afford a small school any longer, and she will be virtual now. Her anxiety is so high. She will be having braces placed soon within a week, and after that, her jaws will literally be broken by surgeons. It's called a Mandibular Distraction to move the jaws forward so implanted molars will fit. Unfortunately, we cannot afford the extra cost of surgery, and it is a time-sensitive thing. It's much easier to move the jaws while growing. She is almost 13. She has to eat soft food and picks chicken tenders into small pieces to chew it. It breaks my heart, but I wouldn't change having her for the world. I feel I let her down because my body was just not capable of holding the baby weight. I ate only enough to help her grow. I tried everything, laying down a lot so she could move back up where she should be. But I had to work waiting tables to afford bills. Most of my kids are grown with their own families. I was remarried in 2001, and my new husband wanted kids. Please help us raise the funds we need. $500 deposit for braces and could be more than $15k for the surgery my insurance with my job will not cover. When she was a newborn, the entire cost was covered. It is awful that now she is older, they do not supply coverage for her. Life-saving only. God bless you. Will be happy to share updates as we move forward. Please give $1.00 or .50 cents. It adds up and will help her greatly.
