Support Mr. G's Life-Saving Kidney Transplant

Hello everyone, my name is Ashley, and many of you know my father, lovingly called Mr. G, the heart behind Forest Café & Bakery. He's not just the owner but a beloved friend and a cornerstone of our community. Over the past few years, my family and I have faced tremendous challenges, and I want to share our story with you.

In October 2022, our lives took a turn when my dad suffered a severe injury, breaking four critical vertebrae in his neck. His road to recovery was long and difficult, but with the support of my mom and me, we managed to keep both his spirits and the café going. Unfortunately, a year later, he suffered a hemorrhagic stroke, further impacting his health.

Around the same time, my dad began dialysis, which has been incredibly hard on him. His first experience at a dialysis facility was devastating due to mistreatment, but thankfully, he's now at a better facility, though the process remains difficult. Dialysis takes a strong toll on his body, leaving him unable to do many things that he enjoys.

Now, we are approaching the most critical step in this journey. My father has stage five kidney disease and needs a kidney transplant. Miraculously, I am a perfect match, and I will be his donor. Our surgery is scheduled for October 29th, and while we’re incredibly grateful for this opportunity, the road ahead will be tough.

Both my father and I will be in recovery for some time, and we’ll have to step away from the café. The cost of his post-transplant medications alone will be $5,000 per month, not to mention the growing hospital bills and the financial strain of my mother having to run the business without me as I have been her partner for the last few years.
