Support Mr. Harrell in His Time of Loss

This page is for donating funds to a friend and colleague, Mr. Harrell, who recently lost his mother. We, the teachers who get to work with him at Kernan Middle School, are trying to help him deal with the overwhelming amount of money that it has cost to provide her care and now the challenging task of organizing her funeral.

Who is this guy, Mr. H? He's currently a long-term substitute teacher with us, who retired after a teaching career of 30 years. Rather than enjoy an easier retirement, he teaches children with special needs. Specifically, students with communication and social skill deficits. Some of the students he deals with have extreme issues with behavior from time to time. He has been punched, kicked, called the meanest names you'd ever want to hear and still comes back to us every day to fill a huge need in our department. He does it happily and supports the students he teaches with kindness and encouragement.
