Hi everyone

Nothing could have prepared my granny for the travesty that happened Jan 8th in Altadena , she lost her home of 48 years while cleaning her recently deceased best friends home . She was stuck with the reality that the clothes on her back was all that she had after finding out her home was burned to the ground like so many others in her neighborhood. Mrs. Allen aka granny has made that a home to everyone, her door was never locked which is something I often got on her about but that’s just what the house on Palm was. It was home base to not only her children and grandchildren but my granny made sure that any niece, nephew, or family friend had somewhere to stay if need be . Not only was this the family home but for the last 24 years it was Allens family childcare to many as well . Granny made sure to open a 24 hr child care in her community giving so many parents relief over the years knowing their children were at a daycare where they were truly loved Allen’s family child care was like no other, Granny made sure to be available day or night. So many children in the community were able to experience out of state field trips during the summer and during the school year she didn’t play about your child's education. I can truly go on and on about my grandmother and her impact on not only the community but also what she provided to her family by making sure her home was everyone’s home . Even if she wasn’t home you could pull up and know someone was there . I’m so thankful for all the memories we have had on 70 west Palm St , but now we need your help to create new ones . Due to these unforeseen events in Altadena granny has been forced into retirement. Please help us give her a head start into her new season. With her no longer having the income of the childcare we need everyone’s help to make sure the women that has helped so many will be just fine as she embarks on this new journey . Like I stated in the beginning she was not able to prepare and grab anything from her home while so many were evacuating . If granny/ Mrs. Allen has been a blessing to you please be a blessing to her, if you have been watching the news and would like to help we would be more than grateful ☺️

let’s talk about how the funds will be used

I want to make sure wherever she decides to go she can afford to stay and fully furnish her new home. Nothing can replace 48+ years of valuables she had however we can make sure she is comfortable and able to replace the things that are replaceable.
As you all know she unfortunately loss her place of business with her home which means she no longer has that income and the thought of her struggling to make ends meet and trying to find a job at 70 breaks my heart. So these funds will definitely go towards her being able to maintain a normal life style and bills . She just needs something to give her a head start on this new journey. She originally asked for me to set her go fund me goal for only 12k and she said she will figure the rest out ( why is she like this lol ) but I simply declined and reminded her of the reality of her situation and set the goal 30k but praying for an overflow.
