Support 'Munger Road' - WCU Junior Thesis Film

After hearing a legend about their hometown, Sadie and her boyfriend Noah attempt a supernatural experiment making her question everything she thought was real.​

Munger Road is a Junior Thesis horror short film based on a local legend from our Cinematographer/Writer's hometown of Bartlett, Illinois. It is set to be made by Western Carolina University, Film & Television Production students! The shoot is projected for March 2025, and our team is currently raising funds to help things run smoothly and bring this story to life.

What We Need

We are hoping to raise at least $500. What we are able to raise independently up to that amount will be matched by our university. Our goal is to have a total of $1000 to make the film! But additional funds will only add to the quality of what we create!

This money will be distributed into several different areas. Our largest expense will be feeding the cast and crew while on set, which is super important! Other funds will be split between our 1980's style production design/costumes, transportation costs, and submission to festivals when the film is completed.

Meet Our Team!

We are a team made up of Western Carolina University students! Our program and school as a whole cultivate an environment of collaboration that supports us as we work together to make amazing films and kickstart our careers in the entertainment industry.

Director - Reece Robison

In his junior year, Reece has written and directed numerous projects, including Navy, the 2024 Controlled Chaos Film Festival winner. He has yet to direct a project he has not written and is eager to start production on Munger Road. He is excited to craft a unique world highlighted through lighting style, camera movement, and subtle performance cues while keeping true to the writer's vision.

Writer/Cinematographer - Gabbi Flynn

Gabbi is a junior FTP student at Western Carolina University. She’s had previous experience in many different roles while at WCU and is excited to be continuing her passion as writer and cinematographer for her junior thesis project “Munger Road.” This project was inspired by a legend from her hometown in Illinois and she can’t wait to bring that story to life in North Carolina.

Producer - Mallory Jennette

Mallory is a Junior at WCU and has explored a wide array of roles both on and off set. She has a lot of producing experience, having produced several different projects in the past, including a senior thesis film. She is dedicated to helping this team bring Munger Road to life as smoothly as possible!
