Support Muscogee Stomp Dancers Performing in South River Forest!
Muscogee community members from respective Ceremonial grounds in Eastern OKlahoma will be performing a stomp dance and sharing about Muscogee culture in South River Forest on Saturday November 27. Help support this event by funding travel, lodging, and food for the 15 Muscogee people that are making this long journey traveling to this event!
This cultural sharing is taking place in South River Forest, the largest urban forest in the US, which is under threat of destruction to build a police militarization base. The stomp dance event will offer opportunities for Muskogee community members from Eastern Oklahoma to connect with their ancestral lands and resist the ecological destruction of the forest. This event will also be an opportunity for cultural sharing and deepening of relationships between local Atlanta community members and members of Helvpe Ceremonial grounds.
Please support generously! Any excess funds will go to Helvpe Ceremonial Grounds and to continuing organizing efforts to protect South River Forest that center Muscogee communities!
This is a free event and everyone is welcome!
